Election 2024: Winner Projected For PA's 11th US Congressional District

Election Day 2024 is in the books, and Pennsylvanians have chosen their next representatives in Congress, according to multiple outlets' projections based on unofficial results.

In the commonwealth’s 11th congressional district race, Lloyd Smucker defeated Jim Atkinson for the House seat representing Lancaster and York the AP projects.

The incumbent was leading his democratic party opponent by a margin of 63.1% to 36.9%, with 99% of the vote as of midnight, Wednesday, Nov. 6, according to the PA Department of State. 

The 60-year-old Smucker has represented the district since 2019, after serving in the 16th District starting in 2017. 

Among his top issues, according to Ballotpedia, were tax reform and US defense. 

The Lancaster native, born Old Order Amish, now a Lutheran, attended Lebanon Valley and Franklin & Marshall colleges before serving as president of the family commercial construction business, Smucker Company.
